Why Pragmatist values?

On a palette between philosophies vying for influence where do our beliefs lie? We may be an idealist in one dimension of our lives, and in others, we may be very practical. Based on our backgrounds, we tend to view different life-philosophies as an art spectator who beholds different perspectives around an arts masterpiece. This very ability and freedom of going back and forth between different perspectives ensures variability of actions that can be expected from a person in a given situation. It's such a relief that we won't be binned for life and there are options and thus possibilities that can be entertained and thus adopted with an over-arching philosophy. In imagination, we can have limitless worlds, unlimited possibilities. But coming to reality, the world works but in other ways. So, when we are asked, what's the value behind devising a given course of action? We may posit a stance which is less or more actionable. Often on television and social media, pundits accuse each other for double standards, and one universal ethical principle is prior to the other alternative. With pragmatism, we prefer based on the situation or circumstance. We remain guilt-free of adopting multifarious views from time to time. Our behavior remains extensible and thus our potential is realized.
