A simple Hack for Stress Relief

I have been writing on Stress for quite some time for now. I have mentioned how deep breaths (4-4-6) can be recuperative. Distraction works too. This cognitive hack I am going to share makes use of neural pathways that link our PFC with limbic system and further with lizard brain (Triune brain serves a pedagogical purpose). As effective thoughts can be, as impactful memories can be, recounting good times serve to alleviate stress, yes, and that too in the moment. It strongly resonates with gratitude practice and is as effective as being hopeful and learning how to apply one's imagination. And why not? If chronic stress and worry is as instrumental in evoking ruminations and leaving us in distraught, staying hopeful adds to one's resilience. Hope can be so remedying for the chronically stressed.

Let gratitude be the sails directing our lives towards hope.
