I am sure that most of us have taken a course on Applied Probability in university days. One of the most impactful lessons to draw from such courses is "Correlation is not Causation". In simple terms, if two events occur one after the other, that doesn't mean that they are causally linked. This can be a coincidence.
Another interesting analogy, towards which I intend to draw our attention towards, is Domino's effect. The events in this analogy are inter-dependent and are linked in a chain reaction. An important consequence of Domino's effect is to counteract the chain of events if not in our favor.
