“No man ever steps in the same river twice. For it's not the same river and he's not the same man.”
-- Heraclitus
Sometimes one comes across pithy maxims that challenge our outlook towards things such as Life or Nature. Earlier I highlighted the utility of Cognitive Triangle wherein we came across many of the strange loops that make up our existence. Although we keep coming back to a river day by day, it's different. At times, water is gushing ferociously and at other times, it's relatively calm like a lake. The saying highlights the transient (or impermanent) character of Nature. So, the question arises, "Which mindset shall make us thrive?"
Beginner's Mindset, meeting every circumstance with a fresh outlook, going as far to find novelty in each situation, identifying we are in a different terrain, curious enough to make observations and unravel predictions and assumptions in the thinking process, even when they are serving and come with newer predictions and assumptions and see how things work out?
Emotionally, we need to be as curious like a cat and resist the urge to pounce on the very first conclusion our mind throws at us.
